All I'm doing is asking if anyone happens to have concrete information on how the system works, be it from information sources in game that I haven't found or experience (that I never asked anyone to deliberately put themselves through for my sake). As Picotrain said, all you need is fibre (one piece of fibre per spirit per day), and that is so easy to get that you shouldn't ever run out. I've heard that spirits run away after not being fed for a day (or two days, if you chose a specific perk during level-up), but feeding them is so easy that this never became an issue.
